This series keeps getting better. Always a good sign, IMO. I was very happy to see that Anita is capable of having romantic feelings for someone, and was not surprised at all that it was with someone of the not-so-human persuasion. Practicing magic, after all, is not-so-typical for the human race. I must admit to wishing that her squishy, UST-type feelings were for Jean-Claude, however. His character irks me to no end, but I can't deny his charm. At least we know that there is a possible future relationship there...when Richard proposed and Anita said, "Yes", I had an OH NO! moment.

Goodreads | Review - Rosie Meadows Regrets, by Catherine Alliott
This book started out a little slow for me. I wasn't entirely sure where it was going...disgruntled housewife wants a divorce, fantasizes about offing her husband, then...WHAM!...the prat up and dies by the very means she chooses in her fantasy! From that point on I was hooked.
Shockingly I was not "in on" the final outcome in this story. There was no real foreshadowing, which was brilliant! When everything started rolling together at the end of the story I was surprised and I think, perhaps, that this is what made this story to exceptional.
Long story short? This story was charming, witty, engaging, and hilarious. Poor Rosie stumbles and bumbles her way through life like a real woman, making a myriad of mistakes each day that she finds herself too mortified to correct. She's endearingly screwed up, and I found it refreshing that (for once!) the heroine had NO clue what she wanted from her life...just that it was something different than what she had. I can't wait to read more of Alliott's books...I hope that they are all as captivating as this one.

Goodreads Review - Fallen
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I really wish I could award 1/2 stars on this, because I really would have given it a 3 1/2. The story line is great, and the characters are well-developed. My only problem is with the flow. I felt the that author kept everyone guessing for so long that the ending ended up feeling cramped and rushed. I would loved to have been in on the secret a little earlier, then had the good-bye between Luce and Daniel be expanded on more.

Goodreads
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I think Specials is more of a stand alone book, rather than part of a series. It just felt disjointed from the rest of the books, to the point that I was probably 1/3 of the way through it before I really picked up on the pace of it, and on the fact that we weren't HUNDREDS of years in the future, but only three. Once we got the the point where Tally, Shae, & Fausto reappeared, however, I got right back into the swing of things.
All in all? I liked this book quite a bit. It was an enjoyable read, and kept me moving at a good pace. There was never a time where I wanted to stop reading it.
